About Rising Hope Foundation Rising Hope Foundation is a charitable organization offering educational scholarships and youth mentoring programs in Uganda. It was founded by Edidah Tumwebaze, who grew up in abject poverty and deprivation. Despite the cultural hindrances for females and the lack of most basic necessities, Edidah obtained a decent education, an opportunity she longs to extend to the other children still walking the same road she walked. As a pioneer project, Rising Hope Foundation is focusing on serving the youth in Kyabugimbi, Bushenyi district, an area that has long had a reputation of being ‘inside a locked cupboard' due to its remoteness. Edidah Tumwebaze will be at the concert to give a short talk and answer questions. www.RisingHopeFoundation.com About Sing Portland! Sing Portland! is founded on two beliefs: • we all have a voice worth singing with • we can sing the world a better place After 8 years of leading several community choirs in the Portland area and graduating from the Community Choir Leadership Training in Victoria BC, Marion Van Namen has just founded her dream choir, Sing Portland! She provides a beautiful and safe environment for anyone to discover their inner voice, bringing people together in song. The joy that the singers generate is spread through local concerts. Sing Portland! is a philanthropic business: ALL concert proceeds go to local and international charities. www.SingPortland.com About Fools in Paradise Fools in Paradise is an eclectic 6-person group performing a variety of music on African instruments.
