The annual Mochitsuki Festival is a tradition of the local Japanese Community. The event celebrates the new year with Japanese rituals and treats like the hand-pounded mochi rice and other delicacies. There are also exhibits and demonstrations of traditional crafts as well as work by contemporary artists like Kurumi Conley. Shoehorn will perform on the 2009 Mochitsuki Festival Community Stage at two pm, and serve as MC as well. There will be various groups including Taiko drummers and school children performing. Come and check it out and say hello! (Konnichiwa)
