Mission Statement of the PANGAEA PROJECT: By engaging teenagers from underserved neighborhoods in local and international service-learning projects, The Pangaea Project promotes the development of leadership skills, increases global awareness, and fosters a commitment to work towards social change, profoundly transforming both the participants and their communities. Our Philosophy: The founders of The Pangaea Project chose the name Pangaea to inspire an image of a reunited world, believing in the innate capacity of all youth, regardless of socio-economic status, to be contributing members of both their own communities and the broader world. By engaging in activities that have a positive impact on communities, low-income teenagers will feel awakened, valued, and hopeful, resulting in compassionate, empowered, and globally competent leaders. Pangaea is the name of the original Supercontinent 200,000,000 years ago when all of the continents were connected, and the earth was one.
